Five lines is plenty
The message box doesn’t need a proposal in it. These are what let us read the solicitation and come back with a fit opinion and a number.
- The funder’s name, and a link to the RFP or NOFO
- The deadline, and whether it’s a letter of inquiry or a full proposal
- Roughly how much you’re asking for
- Your annual operating budget, to the nearest $50,000
- Whether you’ve applied to this funder before

Enter the deadline. The dates that come back are the schedule we work to when there’s room: six weeks for a foundation, eight for federal.
Tighter is sometimes possible. Whether it is depends on the funder and on what you already have written, and we’ll say which on the call.
